Semrush has introduced tools that help build content and support list management to help small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) reach more consumers online.

Content Outline Builder and the global expansion of Listing Management launched this week, making it easier for companies to boost visibility online.

“I recently saw somewhere that there are over 7.5 million blog posts published every day,” Erika Varangouli, head of International Brand at Semrush, wrote in a post to Inside Performance. “Everyone is trying to grab people’s attention through content but creating genuinely engaging, useful content is difficult and can be very costly.”

The Content Outline Builder helps to create detailed content briefs in seconds. Users type in the domain and the topic or keyword, and the tool returns a list of content opportunities to choose from. Users can then click on the ones they want to gain access to. All the information a content-creator needs — from recommended word count and tone of voice to suggested structure and meta content — are included.

SMBs find this most helpful in terms of budgets, Varangouli said. Semrush looked into the ways that SMBs use content marketing and found that 64% of the businesses have a monthly budget of less than $1,000 for content creation.

“Imagine having to manually research, brief, write and approve every piece of content you want to publish with only $1,000 set aside to do so,” Varangouli said. “How fast would you be able to scale?”

Varangouli said this is where data, automation and AI can help speed the process, lower the costs and help marketers deliver great results.

Semrush data shows an 83% increase in searches for “local SEO” from January 2020 to March 2022.

Ranking high in local search is critical, especially for SMBs trying to grow online visibility in specific areas.

The Listing Management tool in Semrush’s Local SEO toolkit was recently expanded to reach 22 new markets, including Brazil, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Spain. The expansion invites more marketers to save time and resources by managing their online presence in local areas from one central hub.

With the Listing Management tool, users can automatically distribute business information such as name, address, and phone number to directories in their area and keep it up to date.

The tool also makes it easy for users to monitor their online reputation with hyper-local analytics and manage reviews on Google Business Profile and Facebook.

Both free and paid versions are available.

“Creating genuinely engaging, useful content is difficult and can be very costly,” Erika Varangouli, head of International Brand at Semrush, told “Inside Performance.”
