Twitter Moments - How To Guide & Best Practices For Businesses

What are Twitter Moments?

Twitter Moments were released 1 year ago in October 2015. They can be found in the “Moments” tab right next to your “Home” tab on Twitter.

The idea behind this feature is to allow Twitter users to see the best, most trendy content on Twitter without them needing to follow the authors of these Moments.
The “Moments” tab on Twitter

At the beginning, Moments on Twitter were only being created by Twitter’s curators team and a number of Twitter partners, including Buzzfeed, Entertainment Weekly, Fox News, Mashable, NASA, New York Times, Vogue and the Washington Post. Since last week, Twitter Moments were made available for everyone.

How do Twitter Moments work?

When you click on the “Moments” tab you will see a list of Moments that are currently trending. If you would like to explore Moments under a specific category, there are also Moments listed under “News”, “Sports”, “Entertainment”, and “Fun”.

Once you click on a Moment, you will see its introduction with a title and description. By swiping, you can explore the tweets featured into this Moment. The Tweets can be images, autoplaying videos, Vines, and GIFs.

A single tap on the Tweet, gives you a fuller view of it where you can engage with the Tweet by replying, liking or retweeting it.

There is a progress bar at the bottom, indicating how many Tweets are inside the Moment you are browsing.
Swiping up or down in your Twitter app closes the Moment and redirects you back to the “Moments” main tab.

At the end of each Moment, there is a share button to Tweet your thoughts, and publish it for your followers to see.
