When you’re working hard to grow your email list, you want to think about the quantity and quality of your contacts.

Your email list can tell you a lot about which people are most engaged with your business and which leads are smart to target with future messages.

Then it’s up to you to send them quality information to gain their trust and further that business relationship.

In the fifth video of our How to Grow Your Email List video series, we’ll give you some tips on turning newsletter contacts into quality leads.

Watch the video below!

I’m going to walk you through a few steps you can take to turn newsletter contacts into quality leads for your business.

1. Track leads

After you’ve sent an email, you want to use your reporting tools to tag contacts who opened your email and clicked on your call-to-action link. These are your leads, so do this after every campaign that you send.

2. Outreach

Now that you’ve targeted your leads, reach out to them with a special introductory offer or coupon to help them along in the buying process.

3. Get more

Collect new contacts whenever and wherever you can. You can use tools like Text-to-Join and QR codes to incentivize people to subscribe for your mailing list. These tools are the best because these people will add themselves to your list, and that means no data entry for you.

Put your sign-up form QR code on:

  • Brochures
  • Menus
  • Business Cards
  • Receipts
  • Posters

Then make sure to place it where someone can easily scan the code with their phone.

Also, memorize your Text-to-Join keyword. Wherever you’re talking about or networking for your business, make it really simple for people to subscribe to your mailing list right then and there from their phone.

4. Nurture and repeat

The last step is to set up an automated welcome series, which will send out introductory information about your products and services to the new contacts you’re collecting. Then, keep a close eye on the ones that are most engaged with those emails because those are your best leads.

Follow these steps and you’ll be able to turn new and existing contacts into quality leads for your business.
