Google trends is a popular tool you can use to research several things. You can use it to determine the trend in your niche or a new niche. You can also use it to find profitable long-tail keywords for your business.

How to use it:

1. Type in https://www.google.com/trends/ and press enter.
   
2. Type in your root keyword. For example, if you are in the organic gardening niche and you are looking for long tail keywords to use. Type in the keyword and press enter.

Scroll down to the related search section and you will see the long tail keywords you can use.

Some of these keywords here may not show up in Google keyword planner.

2. Searches related to

These are keywords that show up on Google search result pages. If you type a topic such as organic gardening into the Google search bar, you will see related keywords displayed at the bottom of the search page.

This is a great place to find profitable long-tail keywords. Most of the keywords you see here have less competition.

You can get a boat load of keywords here. Just pick one of the related keywords shown above and paste it into Google search again, you will get a different set of long tail keywords. You can repeat this process until you get the number of keywords you need.

3. Quora

Quora is a popular question and answer website, just like Yahoo answers. You can use it to generate profitable long tail keywords for your niche.

To do that:

1. Log in to your account or create an account if you don’t have one
   
2. Type your keyword and click the search button

Quora will show you different questions on your topic.

Check the questions and look for keywords you can use. You may have to modify the topics to get what you want.

Now, take the keywords to Google keyword to get more long tail keywords.

For example, I modified the keyword – “How can we earn money from organic gardening” to “make money with organic gardening“.

I entered the keyword into the Google keyword tool and got the following profitable long tail keywords.

a. Make money from your garden

b. Making money from your garden

c. Make money from gardening etc.

4. Soolve

Soovle is a keyword tool, that collates keyword suggestions from Google suggest, Wikipedia, Ask.com, Amazon and Youtube.

How to use it to generate profitable long tail keywords

1. Type www.soovle.com into your browser and click enter
   
2. Type in your keyword in the search field.

For instance, type “organic gardening” in the search bar. As you type, Soovle will bring out long tail keywords for you. See pic below:

You can download the result in a CSV by clicking on the download button at the top of the page.

5. Keywordtool.io

This is a useful long tail keywords tool you can use for your niche. Just like Ubersuggest, it generates result from Google Suggest. It searches all the alphabet to find related long tail keywords for you. It gives you 750 keywords for free.

How to use it:

1. Type www.keywordtool.io into your browser and press enter.
   
2. Type in your keyword.
   
3. You will see lots of long tail kewords you can use for your niche (as shown below).

6. Uber Suggest

Uber Suggest is another keyword research tool that will help you to get profitable long tail keywords. It gets its result from Google suggest. It is a unique tool because it provides a lot of keyword suggestions. It does this by adding different alphabets to your keyword.

How to use it:

1. Type www.ubersuggest.org in your browser and press enter
   
2. Type in your keyword into the space provided and click on “suggest”
   
3. Click each alphabet to get more keywords

For example, I type in “organic gardening” and clicked on “a”. I got the following results:

You can download your keywords by clicking on “download all” button above.

Note: Some of the keywords might not be useful for your niche, but many of them will.

7. Forums

This is another free long tail keyword tool you can use to find profitable keywords.

Forums are places where lots of people visit to ask and answer questions on different topics. There are forums on specific niches.

How to use it:

1. Find forums in your niche. Type in “Keyword” + “forum” into google search and you will see lots of them.

Click on any forum you want and check out the topics:

I typed in “organic gardening + forums” and click on the first forum in the search engine result.

I searched the first page and found these:

From the thread, I got the following long tail keywords:

1. How to revitalize your organic gardening soil
   
2. How to compost an acre of land
   
3. How long does the nutrient in the soil last
