While most are still open for business, office spaces may look a bit different after the dust settles. Should you stay in your current office under the assumption that your workers will return? It’s only natural for your team to lose focus during a move, especially if they’re assisting in the downsize operation. However, there are a few things your leadership team can do to help the process move along quickly and efficiently.

Depending on the size of the move, you should expect at least a few days for a team to pack up, move, and reassemble office material. The better you plan, the more efficiently you can manage the transition.

Make sure to plan ahead here and consider every aspect of the relocation. The last thing you want is to hemorrhage money while you’re trying to save money.

Occasionally, you’ll bite off a bit more than you can chew. Some moves require more than a few boxes and trucks and employees can’t be expected to manage a relocation while also keeping up with their typical day-to-day.
If this is the case, don’t be afraid to outsource. While it may cost more up front, many small businesses will find that movers and project managers pay for themselves when it comes to salvaging precious working hours and productivity.
