    Building up your email list is one of the smartest things you can do for your business. In seconds, hundreds, or even thousands of people can receive your messages and news in their inboxes. Social media can be a great tool for this specific task – and there is no reason why you shouldn’t try to convert your online audience into subscribers. Read on and I’ll teach you 7 ways to build your email list using social media.


    7 Ways to Build Your Email List Using Social Media

    1. Pin Posts


    Many social media networks now let you “pin” important posts to the top of your profiles. This means that when someone visits your profile you pinned post will be the first post they see. Use this feature to your advantage and pin an image with a call to action to sign up to your list to the top of your profiles.


    2. Use Content and Contests


    Host a webinar, create a free download, contest or sweepstakes. The bottom line is to create offers, content, and calls to action that point back to landing pages promoting any of the previously mentioned initiatives.


    3. Use Twitter’s Lead Gen Cards


    Twitter has a great feature called Lead Generation Cards. They basically let your followers join your list my simply clicking one button, which submits their Twitter email address to you. Twitter creates an excel file you can download with all your new subscribers. You can pin this card to the top of your profile for added visibility after you tweet it.     4. Facebook Tabs


    Create a Facebook tab that leads visitors to your email subscription. My go-to tool for this is WooBox.com. Once you’re signed up you can choose “Static Tabs” and use HTML or your landing page link to embed your sign up form to your Facebook page.     5. Facebook Call to Action Button


    Take advantage of your Facebook Call to Action Button. It comes with a handy “Sign Up” option where you simply insert a link to your landing page, or sign up form. How easy is that? To set up yours click on the “Create Call to Action” button. Click the call to action you’d like (in this case sign up) and enter the website or landing page URL, click create and boom! done.

    6. Take Advantage of Header Images


    The importance of header images can be easily over looked, but don’t make this mistake! Header images let you get creative and are a great medium for promoting any efforts you have going on for your brand. Use this space and create a header image that promotes your email subscriber sign ups.


    7. Simply Ask!


    If you don’t ask, you don’t get. One of the most direct ways to gain email list subscribers from social media is to ask for them. As mentioned in the first tip make it a habit to include a post specifically to promote your email list every week. You can get creative with videos, .GIFs and images you use.
