Viral Marketing is a simple process where you create a product, such as a video or ebook, and allow it to freely circulate the internet and make money for you. The best part is that you do not really need to have created the product, you can easily acquire free products that give you the right to put your name and links to your sales pages and website. Such products are called Private Label Rights products, or PLR.
You simply alter the product so that it includes your name and links to your affiliate sales pages.
Here are some examples of how you can begin your viral marketing campaign.
Let us say, that you compose an ebook. You take some time putting your links into it and turn it into a pdf file for easy portability. The next step is to circulate it. What are the best ways to get your product in front of other people?
1. Sell it on eBay for $ 1.00: eBay has rules against selling things too cheaply, this is looked upon as trying to artificially inflate your feedback rating. So I would not sell for anything less than that or you could find yourself unwittingly in violation of their regulations. Also, you will need to copy your product to CD or DVD to ship as a hard product, because ebay now has rules against electronic delivery.
2. Join a free giveaway site: This is a fun one, you give away your product, and not only do you have it in the hands of many people but, you get a very good quality link to your site, which is excellent for search engine optimization.
3. Use Peer-to-peer file sharing programs to your advantage: We all know about the negative side of PTP programs such as Limewire and Kazaa, but why not offer your ebook to share.
The next part is pretty exciting.
Once in hand, people can begin to distribute your product. You will include a notation at the beginning of the ebook that says, “you are free to distribute this product as long as it remains unchanged”. You are not giving away PLR rights, just resale rights.
They may have other means of doing so that you do not. They may have a larger more captive audience than you have.
Now that your product is being distributed freely, it is time to build another, and another so that you have many products circulating and making money for you.
