Google and YouTube on Monday published details on the top trends, searches and ads around the Super Bowl such as the most-searched food “near me” during the game. The top four most-searched foods include Pizza at No. 1, followed by Chinese food, wings, and Mexican food. Sushi took No. 5 as the most-searched “near me” food, which makes sense with the game playing out in Southern California.

Viewership of Super Bowl ads on YouTube during Game Day rose more than 35% in the living room, compared with 2021. The top ad by Game Day views through 7 p.m. PT was Amazon’s Big Game commercial Mind Reader.

The top national trending term during the game was “50 cent super bowl” with an increase of more than 26,000%. 50 Cent was the surprise guest during the halftime show.

Budweiser ranked No. 1 as the most-searched ad during the game in the U.S. In the ad, a Clydesdale tries to recover after taking a nasty fall as it attempts to jump a barbed-wire fence. Michelob ULTRA followed. Doritos, Coinbase, and Chevy rounded out the top five.

Those who came to Google and YouTube to search for answers asked a variety of questions. Trending questions during the Super Bowl in the U.S. included: what is Dre Day, how tall is Kendrick Lamar, who sings ‘it’s your birthday,’ how old is 50 Cent, and what quarter is the Super Bowl in.

Most-searched celebrities in commercials during the Super Bowl in the U.S. include Larry David, Dr. Evil, Jim Carrey, Peyton Manning, and Scarlett Johansson.

People wanted to know more about football. Most-searched “what is … in football” questions during the game included terms such as safety, touchdown, octopus, sack, and blitz.
