How can you most successfully grow your YouTube subscriber base?
YouTube is a great way to reach a wide audience, as well as engage people through short (or not so short) videos. It also can help you establish yourself as an expert in your field.
1. Know the YouTube Algorithm
YouTube does not want you to use your videos to drive traffic to your personal website or landing page. YouTube wants you to make great content that will make people watch more videos and see more ads. The algorithm rewards channels whose viewers watch videos until the end and have addictive content. 2. Drive Up Awareness Through External Sites
Aside from YouTube SEO, sharing your YouTube videos on social media sites, Vimeo, and your native website is the best way to get people to view your videos and drive traffic to your Youtube channel. 3. Hold an Email Campaign
Create an email campaign with the goal of increasing YouTube subscribers and share with your database. Include various benefits for subscribing to your YouTube channel and make the email sharable, so they can tell their friends. 4. Consistently Create Content
You need to keep generating content over time. Try to take an experimental approach to what you are trying to distribute, but the most important thing is to be consistent with your distribution. 5. Educate Your Viewers
Don’t approach your YouTube channel as a tool to sell. Your YouTube channel should be an avenue to educate people. Give before you collect. Share your knowledge with your customer, and be open and generous with your experience. Don’t withhold anything: Give, share and teach. 6. Make Sure to Use Attractive Thumbnails
So many people overlook the thumbnail for their YouTube videos. It’s one of the most important aspects of YouTube: You can have the most interesting video in the world, but without an interesting thumbnail to match, no one will ever click on it to find out. 7. Repurpose Your Content
It’s difficult to be in all places with limited funds and time. So one thing that has helped us is repurposing content across multiple platforms. For example, we’ll post an article on one of our blogs and then take that same content — such as images and verbiage, for instance — to make a quick video out of it for YouTube. 8. Cross-Post Content
Don’t just rely on posting your videos to YouTube. Schedule them for every social platform, and schedule them multiple times. 9. Keep Videos Short

11. Add CTA Annotations
Throughout every YouTube video, add call-to-action annotations. Create compelling CTA annotations to help promote your channel an offer, or a marketing resource. When the user watches the video, they will see the CTA annotations pop up.
