Many still hold the opinion that Pinterest only attracts a limited audience. Rest assured its demographic has grown substantially in the past few years. With 70+ million users – mostly young and affluent women voting for their favorite products and brands – Pinterest is a marketer’s dream come true!

Statistics show that over 60% of brands are now using it to raise brand awareness. Yet, most businesses get lost when trying to find the right analytics tool to optimize their Pinterest account.

They often don’t have access to good data and when they do set out to find a great Pinterest analytics tool, many are faced with little resource in finding the best technology. Tools that previously existed suddenly seem to have disappeared. Others have reappeared under a different pseudonym. As Pinterest growth skyrockets, so follows the number of analytics tools available.

Clearly, the space is in a period of flux, so we decided to put together a handy guide to help you select the right Pinterest analytics tool.

1/ Pinterest Analytics (Free)

You don’t have to look far to find a Pinterest analytics tool for your business account. Pinterest released its own analytics tool inside the platform for free.

It helps you understand how you perform on Pinterest, who your audience is and which content generates traffic to your websites. While it offers a great range of metrics, including pins and repins, impressions, reach, clicks and visitors, it doesn’t highlight all your Pinterest activity and has no customization ability.

2/ Ahalogy ($ $ $ )

Ahalogy is more of a pay-for-performance marketing optimization tool than a fully-fledged Pinterest analytics tool. It provides brands with Pinterest-ready content through a network of bloggers and other content creators, as well as some insights to increase their traffic and reach. It can be used by bloggers as a Content Network for free or by paying brands to enhance their campaigns.

3/ Curalate ($ $ $ )

This comprehensive Pinterest analytics tool is for the serious Pinterest user with a budget. It offers all the key Pinterest stats you might wish to measure (in-depth data about pins, board, interactions, followers, etc).

Using image-recognition algorithms for Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram, you can easily track how your content resonates with your target audience. Apart from your images’ analytics, you can also use the tool to compare how your brand is performing in comparison to competitors in your market.

Curalate is one of the best supported as each user gets their own account manager.

4/ Cyfe (Free/$ )

Of all of the tools mentioned, Cyfe offers the most basic Pinterest analytics features. To use Cyfe as a Pinterest analytics tool, you will need to add Pinterest widgets to a single dashboard.

The basic version with five widgets is free. It features real-time reports and allows you to track your likes, pins and number of followers over time. You can use other tools and services in conjunction, by linking it to Bitly, Google Analytics, and more.

5/ Gopixel (Free/$ $ )

GoPixel, formerly Pinster, helps organizations understand the commercial benefits of using Pinterest. The tool has a full analytics dashboard and specific campaign management features for planning and execution. With a free account, you can schedule only up to three pins a day.

The tool recommends actions for you to take based on the data it gathers (e.g. best/worst audience interactions). Plans range from free, basic, premium, to a custom structure for bigger clients. Even though GoPixel is active, it has been experiencing severe issues submitting pins and updating data.

6/ Piqora ($ $ $ )

Piqora, formerly Pinfluencer, is a marketing suite for Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr. It is most suited to marketers, advertisers, and retail businesses who want to run and track contests, promotions, and sweepstakes via Pinterest. It has most of the features needed for an effective analytics tool.

Features include campaign tracking, competitor benchmarking and a Gallery mode, using image-recognition tech to discover and display trending pins of a brand’s products in an embedded pinboard.

Piqora also showcases a feature called Pinner360, allowing you to identify your most prominent and engaged pinners. Connecting with your top brand advocates on Pinterest has never been easier.

7/ Tailwind (Free/$ $ )

Tailwind, previously known as PinLeague, is a robust analytics and campaign management tool for Pinterest that helps you discover popular pins, identify influential followers, monitor engagement on your account and benchmark against the competition.

Tailwind is a relatively low priced tool with different price points and features depending on your requirements. It provides analytics data on your Pinterest activity as well as on the content from your site.

Best of all, it integrates with Google Analytics, one of the shortcomings of Pinterest’s built-in analytics tool.

8/ ViralTag ($ )

If you’re looking to schedule the pinning of your content for better results, then Viraltag offers a simple solution. With ViralTag, formerly PinGraphy, you can easily spread out your content, share and analyze pins in bulk at specific times on specific days.

The $ 28/mo premium version does not limit the number of scheduled pins, has more features such as image enhancements, and allows you to manage and analyze up to 5 accounts. If you are a Hootsuite Pro user, you’ll be pleased to hear that ViralTag joined forces, allowing you to directly schedule pins from the Hootsuite dashboard.

9/ Viralwoot (Free/$ )

ViralWoot, previously known as Pinwoot, is a free Pinterest directory designed to grow your following, increase engagement, and automate some of your activity. It does this by referring your Pinterest account to users in exchange for ‘seeds’.

On ViralWoot, ‘seeds’ are the currency. It runs on the premise that you earn ‘seeds’ by following new accounts, liking pins and repinning pins. Scheduling pins and promoting pins will cost you seeds. While it offers an affordable way to promote your products on Pinterest, it doesn’t provide the basic pin metrics of some of the other tools.
