3 Signs It’s Time for Your Business to Outsource Blog Writing

— April 10, 2017

Blogging is an important part of your small business’s marketing strategy. Your blog helps bring traffic to your website, and it helps you generate leads. It helps position your business as an authority in your industry. However, that doesn’t mean that you need to keep writing your blog posts yourself.

As a small business grows, the owner will need to delegate various tasks, including blog writing. But when is it the right time to outsource your blog writing? Here are three signs that your business is ready to hand over the reins to your blog.

You’re Falling Behind Schedule

When you’re busy, it’s easy to put blog writing on the back burner and fall behind schedule. If you’re frequently publishing posts late, or if you’ve skipped a few planned posts, don’t let the situation continue. Publishing new blog posts on a consistent schedule is a key part of content marketing success, and if you aren’t able to post on schedule, your results won’t be as good.

When you don’t post regularly, your audience may lose interest in your blog, and stop visiting your site. Falling behind schedule also has an impact on the number of new visitors you can attract to your site. According to HubSpot, companies that publish 16+ blog posts every month get 3.5 times more web traffic than companies that publish four or fewer monthly posts.

You’re Sick of Writing About the Same Topics

Business blogs typically cover similar subjects from a lot of different angles. At first, writing posts for the blog may have been fun—or at least tolerable—but after a while, coming up with new ideas for the same old topics can get boring. If you’re bored to tears at the thought of writing yet another post about your subject matter, it may be time for a change.

Some business experts recommend outsourcing anything that doesn’t energize you. Spending your time on tasks that bore you can lead to burnout and can even make you lose interest in your business. To stay energized and focused on growing your business, hand off any tasks that you’re sick of doing on your own.

You’re Not Seeing Any Results

The point of a business blog is to get more traffic, leads, and ultimately, customers. If you’ve been blogging for more than a few months and haven’t increased your traffic or gathered more leads, you may need to make some changes.

There are many reasons why business blogs don’t get any results. It could be because of errors in content strategy, issues with content quality, or issues with search engine optimization. A professional should be able to let you know what the issue is with your business’s blog, and help you fix it.

If you’re seeing any of these three signs in your business, it may be time to outsource your blog writing responsibilities. Can you think of any other signs that a business should outsource its blog writing? Let us know in the comments below.
