How To Get “Seen” More Easily on LinkedIn

— January 25, 2018

LinkedIn is moving in a much more visual direction, something fans of Instagram and similar networks are going to love.

Any marketer worth his or her salt understands the importance of having great visuals on social media — and LinkedIn is no exception.

Following in the footsteps of other networks like Instagram, which focus on visually driven content, LinkedIn has been making strides to improve users’ ability to add photos and video, including a new feature to its mobile app that lets you load multiple photos into a single post.

We’ll spend the rest of this post breaking down how this can help you grow your business – especially if the “brand” you’re promoting is yourself!

That’s why, if you’re a Business Coach, Consultant, Small Business Owner or someone else who serves as the “face” of your business, visuals play such a vital role.

On LinkedIn, Use Multiple Images for Mobile Impact

LinkedIn now sees 57% percent of its users accessing the platform on mobile. LinkedIn also notes that posts including images generally result in a 98% higher comment rate on the platform. As a result, images aren’t just “nice to have” on LinkedIn – they’re mandatory if you want to build the type of 1-on-1, personalized engagement that results in lead generation on LinkedIn.

Here are a few ideas for how to use multiple images on a LinkedIn post:

  • Highlight images from a recent conference to demonstrate your industry commitment and insider knowledge.
  • Share images from a company event or fundraiser that would reflect your company culture or values.
  • Share multiple slides from a relevant presentation deck that would offer value to your prospects.
  • Create few custom images around your content such as blog post or podcast with a headline and your logo that would work well to cross promote on other visual platforms like Instagram and Pinterest.

Particularly for professionals like Business Coaches and Consultants, where the ability to be seen and heard by prospects online is critical in order to convert prospects into paying customers — the more you can use imagery to help your ideal clients get to know, like and trust you, the better your ability to convert.

When you share content that demonstrates your expertise and offers tips or advice that help to solve your prospects pain points, you set up your ability to generate leads and win new business on LinkedIn.

Better Late then Never

LinkedIn might be a little late to the party for some of these visual features, but that’s no reason not to take advantage of the world’s largest social network for professionals.

With 500 million members in more than 200 countries, and with two new members joining each second, LinkedIn is the best place on planet earth for B2B lead generation and marketing online.
