10 “Must Go To” Sites For Free Images For Blogs

Finding free images is a piece of cake. It’s finding ones with quality that’s the challenge.

And I’m talking about Istock or Stocksy quality, which are almost impossible to find if you’re searching for free images for blogs.

Luckily, what I have here are the top ten sites with the highest quality images, completely free of cost. I’ve exclusively hand-picked these sites for those who want a more professional and modern blog. It doesn’t matter what topic you’re blogging about. You’ll definitely find an image that will match your blog. Ready to take a look?

Free Images For Blogs That You’ll Love

1. Pexels:

Pexels is, by far, my favorite site! Perhaps it’s because it looks and feels exactly like Istock photos. Or maybe it’s the endless choices of premium quality images that made me spend 30 minutes to finally settle on the wine picture you see above.

Either way, Pexels is perfect for any blogger, whether you’re blogging about food, technology, design, sports, cars, anything you can think of.

Two things that make Pexels extraordinary from the ordinary: their similar photo alternatives and popular search links. Incase you didn’t like a photo you clicked on, you’ll get four similar images to compare to. As for the second, you’ll get a better idea of what people like to post on their blogs. Check the trends now.

2. Pixabay:

Tap into this jackpot of 410,000+ free photos. Each of these images are hand-picked by their team, which are contributed by talented photographers and illustrators. You’ll get a nice blend of studio quality pictures, real life snapshots, and animated graphics.

It might be hard running through tens of thousands of images since the default is set at 50 images per page. To make your photo hunt quicker, I recommend changing the option to view 150 at a time.

3. Unsplash:

Be mesmerized as you scroll down a never-ending list of beautiful mountains, wildlife, skies, and space pictures. Besides natural scenes, you can also find a nice selection of cities, vintage, and architecture images.

Now, before you start on a scrolling journey, here’s an easier way to search. Click on the 4 square icon, which I’ve highlighted in pink. This will make searching easier on the eyes and help you compare the better of the images.

A word of advice: open a new tab any time you see an image you like, even if you’re feeling 50–50 about that one, because it’ll save you the hassle from scrolling back up after going through hundreds of pictures.

4. PhotoPin:

Out of these ten choices, Photopin has a gazillion free images for blogs. Not to mention, it’s the easiest to use. Simply type in what you’re looking for, and you’ll be bombarded with millions of options.

You’ll find that 80% of these photos are ones that photo enthusiasts take, from special occasions to the smallest events of their day. So if you’re looking for real life photos, Photopin is your best resource.

5. Foodiesfeed:

For you food lovers and food bloggers, let me introduce you to the most mouthwatering images you’d ever see: FoodiesFeed. Here, you’ll find an assortment of scrumptious food choices, from breakfast, grilled meats, and desserts to even exotic dishes.

Do know that it is a small selection, but once you start browsing through the images, you’ll be stoked. Because what you will find are images you’d see on popular food blogs.

6. Magdeleine:

Got a travel blog? Want a more earthy theme? Like this photo? Then you’ll love Magdeleine.

As Magdeleine’s mantra goes, “handpicked free photos for your inspiration,” you truly will feel swayed by these images. What you’ll find most alluring are the beautiful landscapes which include mountains, beaches, forests, and lakes.

7. Skitterphoto:

You know those high-definition wallpapers you see in your phone app? That’s exactly what you’ll get from Skitterphoto, except that every picture they have is authentic. And by authentic, I mean it’s not copied from other sites but rather personally taken by Skitterphoto users.

Take one glance, and you’ll see a deep story embedded in each image, mostly from landscapes, nature, urban, nightlife, transportation, and flowers.

8. Life of Pix

Stand 5 feet from your screen and you’ll be amazed how highly defined each Life of Pix image is. Not to mention, it’s got a modern touch that enhances the main object of the photo, which is perfect if you want people to focus primarily on your image.

Life of Pix is best suited for entrepreneurs, nature lovers, food enthusiasts, web designers, techies, and bloggers who love the black & white feel.

9. Flickr:

If you were born in the 1990s, you probably have heard of Flickr. If not, just know that Flickr is the largest online photo database in the world and the first place people flock to for free images for blogs. In fact, some of the world’s best photographers use Flickr’s images for their blogs, so there’s a high chance you’ll find an image you’ll like.

What’s unique about Flickr is their color selection for images. Simply choose a color (or colors) and Flickr will throw you a whole array of images that matches that color theme.

Be on a lookout though for the creator’s logo or name on the image, because some people don’t allow their photos to be used commercially.

10. Splitspire:

As luxurious and elegant as it’s designed, Splitshire provides the same feel for all of its images. What’s amazing is that every single picture is taken by Daniel Nanescu, the creator of Splitshire, who has dedicated over 10 years into his photography career. If you prefer your image clean and simple, you should definitely see what’s in Daniel’s store.

You Can Still Get Picture Perfect

Even for free images for blogs, you can still find one with quality. With so many options to choose from, take it from these amazing image databases, and your blog will look as if you’ve paid hundreds of dollars into its design.
